Yesterday afternoon I noticed
there was a lot of brake dust on the left front wheel. Also twice when we made
a stop I could hear a faint noise on the left front. I asked at the KOA office where they would
take a car for repair and they said Park Automotive. This morning I asked a man at breakfast where
he would recommend to have the brakes looked at and he said Park
Automotive. So away we went about a mile
down the road and they had us in the shop in about 15 minutes. Steve, the mechanic, showed me that something
was dragging and the pads had gotten burn marks on them. We talked it over and decided to replace the
calipers, pads and hoses on the front.
He pulled the rears and they were in great shape. They had us on the road by noon:30. So much for the garage in Hanover giving her
a complete 101 point check.
Different people at home asked us
if we were going to stop in Wisconsin Dells.
We had no idea what “The Dells” were so we did some asking. It is a Mid-West hot spot for vacationing.
When we got
there it’s kinda like Rehoboth, DE without the beach; Hershey Park without the Kisses or Disney World without the Mouse. There were lots of water parks and cool things to do. You can ride in an Army Duck, take a river
cruise on the Wisconsin River, Mini golf, drive go carts.
Linda had never driven a go cart so we stopped at a go cart place and
she had a blast. Move over Danica
Patrick, the hottest driver from Cross Keys is on the track! (Sorry, no pix of
Ms. Petty on the track. I couldn’t race
and operate the camera at the same time)
We spent the evening at the
Marion-Rochester KOA. It was a nice cool
evening with a bit of a breeze. I
started working on the blog and the WI-FI was SO-SLO. I finally gave up. It seem that some of the campgrounds use a
server that slows down the bandwidth it you do anything but check emails or
read the news.
While I was typing away we had an
unexpected guest. He just made himself
at home.
We got a good night’s sleep even
though there were distant rolls of thunder but there was no rain.
