Friday 9/13/2013 Grand Codroy Continues

Friday 9/13/2013

Canadian weathermen (weatherpersons??) aren’t any more accurate than their US colleagues. They said we were to have three days of rain.  The most we have had is overcast, fog and light showers.   With the low overcast and fog the mountains are shrouded in grays and whites.  While it is nice to look at, there isn’t a lot a camera can really do justice to.  We don’t want to travel in the fog and miss the beauty of the area.  They are calling for sunny skies Monday so we paid for our campsite through the weekend.

Now they predict that we will have wind and rain tomorrow (Gabrielle) so today is catch up on chores.  Another trip to Gillis Bros. General Store and doing laundry was the high lights of the day.

Gillis Bros. doesn't have a lot of anything, but they sure have a little of everything.  Food, hardware, toys, fishing and hunting supplies, and smiles by the grocery cart full.

Last night we became very daring and decided to go for supper somewhere new. At the exit of the Campgrounds is a sign for Hynes Chicken Villa.  That’s the ticket…Chicken.  It is a small diner owned and operated by Pauline Hynes.  The chick was delish…the fries plentiful…and a macaroni salad second to none!   With full tummies it’s time to retire for the night.
