We left the Comfort Inn and
headed west. The day was pretty much a
travel day as we are on our way to visit friends in Montrose, CO. This puts us on I-80/US-30 westbound. Yep, the same US-30 that goes past our community
back in PA.
The scenery along I-80 was something.
In about 30 miles we turned south on WY-789. Not quite a desolate as US-287 yesterday, but what seemed like the middle of nowhere to us.
The town of Baggs, WY is right on
the Colorado line. It was time for lunch
and we spotted this lunch trailer at the back of a dirt parking lot. While Linda waited for our order I walked out
to the street to look around. Several
ladies walked up just as I was leaving.
As I looked back to take this pic one of them saw her boyfriend driving
down the street and yelled “I miss you.
I love you”. I yelled back
“Thank You.” When I got back to the
trailer she came with her right hand extended and said “Now that we are in
love, let me introduce myself. I’m
Amanda”. We all got a laugh out of that.
Once a staging fortification for Indian raids it is now a home for rattlesnakes |
We caught I- 70 in Rifle, and US-50 in Grand Junction. this will take us to Montrose. I-70 follows the Colorado River.
