Up in the morning I started
getting the boat ready for a day on the Dead Lake. The temps in the morning are in the high 40s
so it’s a bit crisp. Our next door neighbors have been catching Blue Gill and
Crappy (pronounced Croppy or around here, Specks).
But first, a quick trip to
the IGA in Bunnell for groceries. Then a
stop at the local library to check about public Wi-Fi. They have it available. Just walk in and set up at a table.
In the early afternoon we had
the boat in the water and took a tour of the lake. Fishing was not productive. We had a touch and go visit from a float
plane and away it went.
Linda caught a Blue Gill as
the first fish of the trip. She caught
it on a Sipe’s Spinner, Gold-Gold-Red (gold spinner-gold body-red
feather). Then she caught her first ever
Crappy with the same spinner. She was as
excited as a six year old. She out-did
me as I only caught one Crappy. None
were keepers so we released them to grow up for next year.

Our biker neighbors were
getting ready for the days adventure.
They are really a cool group.
They helped the lady who had to keep changing sites, relocate every
time. The other day they all came over
and we held a mini open house as they were curious about our Boat Tote.
